How to Split 2-metre (6 foot) Logs

http://peplers.blogspot.com How to use a maul (a type of axe) and steel wedges to split a log in a long length. The main reason I do this is so it seasons quickly to be ready for use as firewood, and by keeping it in a 2m length it's easy to store and transport it. It also saves time later - each length I'm splitting ends up as 6 or 7 logs, and splitting them individually on a chopping block would take a while. Safety note: Although I wasn't wearing it here for convenience while filming, it's a good idea to have eye protection of some sort while hitting the steel wedges, as chips can fly off them. Ear protection is advisable too.
