This is the official recording of my live masterclass in which I took people through the idea of listening being the primary skill for authentic improvisation.

I'm a bit of an outlier in that while so much of the world teaches improvisation as a skill learned through the eyes and analytical calculation of chords, scales, intervals, patterns, and licks–I teach it as a skill you develop as a deep listener.

One of my core concepts is that the instrument does not create music. You do. So instead of expecting that machine called a musical instrument to improvise jazz, work on the real instrument that creates the music - the one inside your head.
